Ep 1: The first episode was very 0-100. I was not honestly expecting the events to turn out like that. The two main charcters, Hanabi Yasuraoka and Mugi Awaya are both in love with someone else. For Hanabi she loves her childhood friend, who becomes her homeroom teacher. For Mugi he loves his junior high school tutor, who becomes his school’s musical teacher. Both Hanabi and Mugi’s crushes love each other and they both realize this. This both feel empty and sad knowing that they can’t be together with the one there really love. Hanabi and Mugi use each other as replacements to feel the void, but they don’t love each other. Basically a friends with benefits relationship.
Jan 13, 2017 to Mar 31, 2017 (Winter 2017)
Ep 2: There are two new characters introduced. The first character is Noriko Kamomebata, Mugi’s childhood friend who has a crush on him. The second character is Ecchan, the only female friend Noriko has. She has a secret.
Ep 3: Mugi and Hanabi share an intimate moment (she jerked him off). Later on, they see Mugi’s crush with another man besides Hanabi’s crush. Mugi is delusional and thinks that the guy with her wasn’t a romatic partner, blind love. Mugi’s crush has a hidden side to her.
Ep 4: This episode was WILD. not much to say besides Ecchan and Hanabi shared a hot moment together.
Ep 5: Mugi’s crush slept with Hanabi’s crush
Ep 6: Hanabi is slowly drrifting towards the dark side.
Ep 7: Mugi turns down Noriko. Both Mugi and Hanabi decide to face the truth.
Ep 8: A lot of developments in this episode. Mugi and Hanabi both confess to their crushes. Both have decided to move on to the future together, both have stopped seeing each other as a replacement. Hanabi confesses, and gets turned down but is happy to move on knowing she has Mugi. Mugi confesses and falls for his crushes’ trap. He thinks he can change her ways, basically he wants to wife the hoe.
Ep 9: Hanabi and ecchan go a trip together. Ecchan is looking to end things cleanly with Hanabi.
Ep 10: Minagawa sensei continues leading on Hanabi’s crush. Hanabi’s crush realize she is a thot but still accepts her. As Mugi continues to fall more for Minagawa.
Ep 11: Kanai and Minagawa go on trip together and grow closer. Kanai proposes to Minagawa, and she accepts. Minagawa tells Mugi she is getting married. Mugi and Minagawa are able to move foward.
Ep 12: In the end Mugi and Hanabi are glad to have met each other. But they agreed to go their separate path. They don’t really love each other and only saw each other as a replacement for their special loves. Both move on in search of a real love.
My review: It was a very interesting Anime. The events escalated very quickly and there was some good yuri moments. This Anime talks about how you have to move on from your first love, even though you can find replacements, that is not love, just a way to satisfy loneliness. Mugi and Hanabi realize this and both decided to part ways.
